Sleeping Dogs Lie

In 1919, Ambrose Small was a wealthy theater impresario who dabbled in gambling, prostitution, and drugs. At the height of his glory, Small sold his successful theater chain for over a million dollars then sent a bodyguard, with his wife, Teresa (Wendy Crewson), to the bank with the cheque and vanished forever without a trace. Teresa immediately donated all the money to the Catholic Church. The police believed Small was murdered but there were no witnesses, no notes, no body, and no clues. This true-life story follows a police detective’s (Michael Murphy) journey to unwind a mystery full of religion, drugs, and politics.
