The inaugural Cinema Against AIDS Toronto was held on September 15, 2009. Sullivan Entertainment was the presenting sponsor for this epic evening. Placed amidst the Toronto International Film Festival, the Cinema Against AIDS attracted many notable celebrities for an evening Gala and live auction. The attendees included Sarah McLachlan, amfAR’s Michelle Yeoh, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Miranda Richardson, Deborah Cox, Eve, Terry Gilliam, Bill Nighy, James Purefoy, Verne Troyer and many more.

The evening was a huge success as $700,000 was raised to support amfAR and Dignitas International.

On September 22, 2009 Kevin Sullivan attended the ‘Gucci and Windsor Smith Honor Dr. James Orbinski and Dignitas International’ event in LA. Kevin is seen here in a photo with Dr. James Orbinski.

The private event held to introduce Los Angeles philanthropists to Nobel Peace prize winner, James Orbinski’s burgeoning AIDS organization, was held at the Brentwood home of LA interior designer “Windsor Smith” and was hosted by Ms. Smith, Gucci exec Susan Chokachi and LA public relations maven Nancy McNamara.

Dr. James Orbinski served as President of Doctors Without Borders, and received a Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. He was then the cofounder of Dignitas International, an organization that provides lifesaving treatments and prevention to populations overwhelmed by AIDS.

The event was enormously successful and attended by such celebrities as Camilla Belle and American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, raising significant awareness for Dignitas in the Hollywood creative community.

Sullivan Entertainment has maintained a consistent relationship with Dignitas International over the years. Recently, Sullivan participated in the’ Race for Dignity’ - a stationary bike-a-thon to raise funds and awareness for AIDS research. Also, Sullivan Entertainment was the presenting sponsor for the inaugural Cinema Against Aids Toronto, which raised funds for both Dignitas International and amfAR.
